Automobile Magazine First Look at 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Automobile Magazine recently took a look at the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco and RS:

First, the Cruze Eco. Like LT and LTZ models, the Eco is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque mated to either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. Though EPA fuel economy figures aren't yet available, Chevy says that the Eco achieves 40 mpg highway when combined with the manual, three mpg better than the five-speed-equipped Cobalt XFE, but the automaker does not yet have a figure for auto-trans models.

Chevrolet managed to boost fuel economy without cutting power thanks to a number of small aerodynamic changes. First, the Cruze Eco is fitted with ultra-low rolling resistance tires on unique 17-inch aluminum wheels. Further, it receives a revised grille, lower front air-dam extension, numerous underbody panels, rear spoiler, and a lower-grille shutter that closes at high speeds that improves engine cooling though optimized airflow.

The RS, meanwhile, is an appearance package for LT and LTZ models. On the outside, it features unique front and rear fascias as well as fog lights. Inside, chrome trim replaces the standard silver finishes on the and the gauge cluster receives ice-blue backlighting.

2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD Offers Flexibility

The 2011 Silverado HD offers a wide variety of terrific features and flexibility:

Chevrolet's new 2011 Silverado 3500HD chassis cab trucks are stronger, sturdier and more secure. They offer a wider range of uses than the models they replace, thanks to a more powerful 6.6L Duramax diesel, as well as increased gross vehicle weight ratings of up to 13,200 pounds (5,987 kg) and a gross combined weight rating of up to 27,500 pounds (12,473 kg) on dual rear wheel models.

“These trucks were designed for a large variety of uses, all based on customer feedback,” said Joyce Mattman, marketing director, GM Fleet and Commercial Operations. “Our engineers met with members of the National Truck Equipment Association during the development process, giving us valuable feedback and input to the truck you're seeing today.”

New for chassis cabs are 2WD and 4WD crew cab configurations. The crew cab replaces the previous extended cab, allowing more people to travel more comfortably – a benefit for work crews traveling to the job site. The new crew cab chassis cab configuration is offered in a 60-inch cab-to-axle (CA), while the regular cab chassis cab models are offered in 60-inch and 84-inch CAs.
